How to cast cladding elements

How to pour indoor wall cladding

Production proposal:

  • Before the first casting, wash the molds with an antistatic material (e.g. textile rinse water)
  • Spray the molds with mold release (cooking oil will also do, BUT thinly, as it can leave a stain on the surface)
  • Sprinkle the plaster into the water/mixing ratio for 1 mold: 400 g model plaster, 2.5-3 dl water
  • Let it soak for 1 minute, then with slow mixing we reach a consistency thick with sour cream
  • We pour it into the mold and wait until it hardens. The setting time is 20-30 minutes
  • Remove from the mold and let the finished product dry until it is completely dry

How to pour outdoor cladding

Production proposal:

  • Before the first casting, wash the molds with an antistatic material (e.g. textile rinse water), because the plastic templates become electrically charged during their production, and this can affect the bonding mechanism of the cement.
  • We can use mold release liquid, but after a suitable drying time, the finished product comes out of the template without it. If we want to refill our molds sooner, thinly coat their inner surface with mold release before pouring
  • Fill the mold with the pre-mixed material and compact it on a shaking table or by hand so that the small air pockets rise to the top of the concrete.
  • Then place the molds on a horizontal surface and let the finished product dry. The drying time is 24-72 hours, depending on the temperature and the size of the product. In case of low temperature, the poured templates are stored in a closed, preferably heated place, and in case of high temperature, cover with a film to prevent excessive evaporation.
  • After the drying time, we can start taking out the finished product. If we used mold release before pouring, it will be easier. In the case of strong sunlight, expose the molded templates to the sun for half an hour, so that the plastic expands somewhat and the finished product slides out of it more easily. If the sun is not at our disposal, pour hot water into a larger container and dip our mold in it for a few seconds just before taking it out. We can achieve the same effect with this.
